Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized Apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 1 ½ cups All-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Method

  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Slowly stir in the milk, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth.
  • Gently fold in the diced apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place parchment paper or air fryer liners at the bottom of the air fryer basket.
  • Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop dollops of the batter onto the lined air fryer basket, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  • Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Once done, remove the fritters and let them cool for a few minutes.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Chefs Tips
  • Opt for firmer apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best results. They hold their shape well and offer a delightful tartness.
  • Ensure your batter isn’t too runny. If it is, add a bit more flour to achieve the right consistency.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. This ensures even cooking and a crispy exterior.
  • These fritters are best served warm. Pair them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
