Cookworks Slow Cooker Review

Published by: Chef Matty Riedel • Updated: March 18, 2024

Finding an excellent slow cooker isn’t as easy as it might seem. It must be reliable and durable while still able to cook delicious home-cooked meals. Since potential customers cannot test out a slow cooker before making a purchase, we put together this in-depth Cookworks Slow Cooker review so you can get a better idea of what to expect.

Cookworks Slow Cooker Review

Slow cookers are great for cooking large feasts with minimal effort.

Although they tend to cook things slower (hence their name, slow cooker), they can serve savoury home-cooked meals to feed a large, hungry family for days. They are great for roasts, soups, casseroles, and stews.

However, the Cookworks Slow Cooker is a little small and is only suitable for 1 person, 2 at the most. They do have a 3.5 Litre version as well, but we weren’t that happy with that option either.

A few minor things keep the Cookworks Slow Cooker from reaching its full potential and not being our preferred Slow Cooker. Here’s our review of the Cookworks Slow Cooker.

Feature And Benefits

The Cookworks Slow Cooker sports a sleek oval design with 1.5 litres of cooking space, making it perfect for a young couple or small family. Its black exterior and see-through glass lid allow the Cookworks Slow Cooker to mesh with any kitchen design, so you don’t have to worry about it looking out of place or unstylish.

The Cookworks Slow Cooker also features three setting options: low, warm and high. Its straightforward layout makes it easy to use even if you have little to no experience in the kitchen.

Despite its positive attributes, the Cookworks Slow Cooker has a few setbacks that might not be ideal for some aspiring chefs. Its ceramic bowl is not dishwasher compatible, making the cleanup process more strenuous. It can be challenging to clean and becomes quite slippery when wet.

The Cookworks Slow Cooker doesn’t feature a pouring lip for easy transfer. The lack of pouring lip might not be a defining factor, but its exclusion might push some people towards other products

The Cookworks Slow Cooker makes up for its flaws with its affordability and easy use. Consumers will be happy with the Cookworks Slow Cooker’s accessibility and affordable price tag. It’s perfect for nearly any budget and isn’t overly complicated like other designs.

The Cookworks Slow Cooker is also highly durable, making it reliable and easy to maintain. People looking for an affordable, dependable, stable slow cooker might want to pick up the Cookworks Slow Cooker.

Best Used For

Like most slow cookers, The Cookworks Slow Cooker is excellent for cooking various meals with little to no effort. Its simplistic nature makes cooking nearly anything a breeze.

The Cookworks Slow Cooker can cook everything from a meaty stew to a full roast. All it requires is a handful of ingredients, some broth or water, and the meat of your choice. Simply turn the switch to your preferred cooking temperature and let the Cookworks Slow Cooker take over.

One of the issues with the Cookworks Slow Cooker is that it tends to dry out certain dishes if you don’t keep an eye on the water level. This means that, unlike other Slow Cookers, it’s unsafe to leave it on and go to work for the day.

Although a slow cooker is usually an easy way to cook soups or stews, its high temperatures can dissipate some of the broth, diminishing its volume by a small margin. Be prepared to watch watery dishes and soups since additional liquid might be necessary. Luckily, the glass lid makes it easy to watch your meals, so the dissipating liquid is easy to spot.

Should You Buy The Cookworks?

We didn’t love this product. We also checked out reviews online, and people who had purchased the slow cooker were pretty unhappy. The Cookworks is cheaper, but you get what you pay for!

There are much better options on the market that are more expensive, but not by much. For the extra money, you will have a machine large enough for a family, and you can safely leave all day.

What We Recommend Instead.

We would recommend either the Crockpot or the Morphy Richards Slow Cooker.
