Morphy Richards Soup Maker Review

Published by: Caz Meyer • Updated: March 18, 2024 • Checked By: Chef Matty Riedel

Because I always have leftover veggies at the end of my weekend, I bought this soup maker a few years ago. With the help of this incredible machine, I can quickly make four portions of soup to have ready for easy lunches during the week. The Morphy Richards soup maker takes care of the rest; I only have to add my leftover vegetables and a cooked protein if I have some in the fridge, some boiling water, a vegetable or beef stock cube, and whatever spices I’m in the mood for.

Any vegetables you want can be blended and cooked using this soup maker, and that’s what makes it great; you never have to throw away veggies. You’ll have food for the week; divide the cooked soup into a few food storage containers and put them in the refrigerator or the freezer. Then you can have a variety of soups at your fingertips

Morphy Richards Soup Maker Review

Not too long ago, I made butternut soup for myself and my partner. While I prefer a smooth soup, they like their soup chunky. All I had to do to have smooth soup was start on the chunky program, pour out half when it was finished, and then press the manual blend button, and I had my smooth butternut soup in a flash. Both of us were happy!

With this soup maker, you can prepare enough soup for at least four servings. It blends nicely with any type or style of kitchen thanks to its sleek and stylish design and spacious 1.6-litre jug. To clean it, all you have to do is give the soup jug a quick wash with a bit of soapy water after you’ve finished cooking and then wipe it clean with a sponge, and you’re all set for the next time you want to make soup.

2. Easy Steps To Follow

The Morphy Richards is made simple to use and quick to prepare your soup. All you need to do is prep and cut your vegetables and other ingredients into small chunks, add everything to the soup maker, then select either the smooth or chunky option, and you’re ready to go. To get the best possible results, cut your ingredients into 1- 2 cm chunks so they cook more quickly and combine more effectively. Then, you can relax, unwind, and let your soup maker do the heavy work. The simple control panel contains an electronic timer display that indicates just how much time your soup has left to cook.

3. Stainless Steel Body

Stainless steel makes the soup maker light yet sturdy and strong, lasting for years. The stainless-steel design is also great for stylish reasons, as it looks good in all kitchens. It also makes it easy to clean.

4. 1.6-litre Jug Capacity

This soup maker can make enough soup for four servings at once, making it the perfect device for a quick family meal on days when you don’t feel like cooking for hours. You can use it to make the week’s meals and store the soup in the fridge or freezer.

5. Different Options For Preferred Soup Consistency

This Morphy Richards soup maker has two options for cooking your soup: smooth or chunky. It’s as simple as loading it with your ingredients, pressing a button and having your smooth or chunky soup ready in less than 21 minutes.

6. Time Efficient

Instead of spending hours over the stove making a smooth butternut soup, it’s so much easier to chop your butternut, put it into the soup maker and let the machine do its magic in less than 21 minutes. Why not spend those 21 minutes catching up on your favourite series? And it eliminates the need for a second appliance to blend the soup.

7. Juicing Ability

This soup maker has a juice setting, allowing you to make quick and smooth fruit juices or vegetable juices. Put the fruits and/or vegetables into the soup maker and push the juice button. Making quick and tasty juices has never been easier!

8. Blending Ability

If you’d like to make a smoothie or milkshake, this soup maker can help. It’s as easy as adding your smoothie or milkshake ingredients and then pushing the blend button, and your drink will come out blended smoothly.

9. Extra Recipes

The soup maker comes with an easy-to-read manual that includes 15 recipes for making soups and smoothies. It is always great if a machine comes with suggested recipes that you know are tried and tested and will work perfectly with the machine. It also gives you the basic functions and cooking times that you can then transfer across to use for your favourite recipes

10. Pause Function

This soup maker has a pause function that will let you add more ingredients once your soup has started. It’s perfect for adding last-minute ingredients like cream to the soup or even adding ingredients you forgot to put in in the beginning! The machine will conveniently continue where it left off when you’ve added the extra ingredients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How To Care For And Clean This Soup Maker?

To clean this machine, you have to give the soup jug a quick wash with a bit of soapy water after you’ve finished cooking and then wipe it clean with a sponge.

How Do You Use A Morphy Richards Soup Maker?

All you need to do is prep and cut your vegetables and other ingredients into small chunks, add everything to the soup maker, then select either the smooth option or the chunky option, and you’re ready to go.

Do You Put Hot Or Cold Water In The Morphy Richards Soup Maker?

You add boiling water to the soup maker, but be careful not to put in more than the maximum amount; otherwise, the lid could come off during cooking.

Can You Put Raw Meat In A Morphy Richards Soup Maker?

No, unfortunately, you cannot put large pieces of raw meat into this soup maker as this machine aims to have soup ready in 21 minutes. This soup maker has enough power to heat and cook vegetables but not enough to cook meat. However, you can add small amounts of raw bacon or minced meat that can cook simultaneously, but make sure not to add more than 100g of meat.

How Do I Stop My Morphy Richards Soup Maker From Burning Food?

Some foods, which include sugar or starch, can stick to the inside of the jug at the bottom if the ingredients come into close contact with it. To avoid this, fill the soup maker with a half-cup of liquid (either water or stock) before adding any non-liquid ingredients.

Does A Morphy Richards Soup Maker Blend On The Chunky Setting?

Yes, the soup maker slightly blends the ingredients in the chunky setting but not enough to make the soup smooth. You will still notice the chunks and will definitely need to chew before swallowing!

Does the Morphy Richards Soup Maker Keep Soup Warm?

Even though the soup maker doesn’t have a warming feature, the soup will stay warm in the pot until you take the lid off due to the stainless-steel interior and exterior. However, the soup maker doesn’t automatically turn off when it’s done cooking, so it’s important not to leave the soup in the jug for too long.
