The biggest issue regarding an air fryer I always faced was that I wish I had 2 of them. But even if I had 2, I would still complain about it taking too much space. In comes the Ninja to change the game and answer my prayers! Their double-compartment air fryer allows you to cook in 2 different compartments and adjust the cooking temperature in each compartment!
Ninja offers several different sizes with the double basket option. If you go for the 7.6-litre fryer, I can guarantee you will love it and eventually upgrade to the 9.5-litre machine or the smart cook 9.5L version.
And now they have the amazing FlexDrawer 10.4L option. It comes with a divider to separate the 10.4 litres into 2 baskets, and then you can remove the divider and cook really large dishes in one drawer. You can now fit that large Christmas Turkey you need to feed your guests.
This machine is quite large, so ensure you have sufficient kitchen counter space- you won’t want to pack it away after each use!
The dual basket machines offer what Ninja calls the ‘Smart Finish’ — and, boy, is it smart! The smart finish feature lets you set the cooking times for each chamber independently; you only have to press a button and forget about the food. In addition, this feature will have both sides ready to plate AT THE SAME TIME.
A real-life example will probably solidify what I am trying to explain: If you are making chicken nuggets and chips, you’ve got chicken nuggets on one side and chips on the other. The nuggets will take 20 minutes, and the chips will take 30 minutes. Instead of starting with the chips, set a timer on your phone so you don’t forget to add the nuggets at the right time and then hopefully time it correctly so both items are done simultaneously. Then, all you have to do is add both items into their respective chambers, set their cooking times, and the Ninja will have them both ready simultaneously. If dinner is delayed for some other reason, you can switch it to keep warm mode until you are ready to serve.
This machine offers many different pre-set cooking functions, some of which are simple, and some are complex. I recommend anyone who buys this machine to dive into the user manual and unlock all the marvellous features this machine offers. These built-in programmes include roasting, baking, reheating (perfect for leftovers), crisping and, my favourite, dehydrating!
Best Used For?
Gone are the days of leftover chips being sacrificed to the rubbish, or of takeaway chips becoming stale outside the 5-minute window of perfection! If this is the only reason you buy an air fryer, you will have received your money’s worth. I’ve always made peace with the fact that once a chip has passed the window of perfection, it becomes unsalvageable. A good blast in an air fryer is the only way to reheat leftover or takeaway chips successfully.
Besides reheating chips, the air fryer is terrific for cooking crumbed dishes like chicken nuggets, schnitzels or even crumbed mushrooms. For those days you do not want to make any effort, the air fryer is amazingly effortless.
I enjoy cooking sausages, bacon and ‘fried tomatoes’ in my Ninja for breakfast. Throw a slice of bread in the toaster and 2 eggs in boiling water, and you have the world’s best effortless breakfast!
Another of my favourite things to make in an air fryer is a whole chicken, which is possible in the larger Ninja air fryers ( 7L and above).
The only letdown the Ninja Air Fryers has is that the two cooking chambers result in smaller individual baskets. However, Ninja has solved this with the fantastic FlexDrawer 10.4 Litre option that allows you to remove the divider and have one very large basket.
Reasons To Buy
Despite all the different functions, buttons and settings, the Ninja air fryers are surprisingly easy to operate. They offer a variety of machines with a variety of settings which you can adapt to your needs and, above all, make cooking an effortless joy!
Their machines are easy to clean and reliable and will reduce the dirty dishes you make by at least half! If that does not sell you on investing in a great air fryer, I don’t know what will.

How Do I Clean My Ninja Air Fryer?
Always start by unplugging the unit. Safety first! Ensure the machine has cooled off completely so you don’t burn yourself!
Remove the dual baskets and soak them in warm, soapy water for at least 10 minutes. You can head to the main unit while these are getting their soak on.
Please remember that the main unit of this machine is an electrical appliance. Soaking this machine in water will result in humiliation!
Turn the machine upside down and clean it with a soft, damp cloth. Ensure you reach all the nooks and crannies and wipe down that COOLED-DOWN element. Wipe down the exterior with a soapy cloth, then again with a clean cloth. Please leave it to dry before plugging it into a power source.
Please return to the bathing baskets and clean them with warm soapy water. Alternatively, place them in the dishwasher.
Never use abrasive materials or brushes while cleaning this machine.
How Often Should I Clean My Ninja Air Fryer?
As with any kitchen appliance, this machine has to be cleaned after every use. Although you don’t have to deep-clean the main unit after each use, you must clean the cooking baskets, especially after cooking meat. When cooking meat, the fat seeps out and collects in the basket. If not cleaned, these fat drippings may become rancid.

Unlike a microwave, this machine works by blowing really hot air around. Nothing will react with the foil. Ensure the foil is not caught in the fan, and your kitchen won’t set alight.

How Do I Turn Off The Annoying Beeping Sound?
Nothing is more irritating than constant unsolicited beeping sounds; follow this, and thank me later! Hold the minus temperature and time buttons for 3 seconds without running. You’ll hear a beep, release the buttons and enjoy the silence!
Can The Ninja Air Fryer Replace My Microwave?
Depending on your microwave usage, the Ninja cannot do exactly what your microwave does. However, I wouldn’t say I like microwaves (unless you have a really good one). So, in my honest opinion, YES, throw that microwave away!
