Equipment

  • Whisk
  • Silicone spatula
  • Small ovenproof dish or ramekin that fits into your air fryer (4-inch diameter is ideal)

Ingredients

  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Bell peppers dice (any color you fancy)
  • 1/4 cup Onions diced
  • 1/4 cup Cheddar cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoon Milk or cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A sprinkle of fresh herbs parsley, chives, or cilantro for garnish – *because we’re fancy like that.*

Method

  • Begin by dicing your veggies and setting them aside. Crack those eggs into a mixing bowl.
  • Using your whisk, beat the eggs with the milk until smooth. Toss in your diced peppers and onions. Season with a dash of salt and pepper.
  • Lightly grease your ovenproof dish or ramekin.
  • Pour your egg mixture into the dish, then sprinkle that delectable cheese on top.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Once ready, gently slide the dish into the fryer.
  • Let it cook for about 12-15 minutes or until the centre is set and the top is lightly golden.
  • Using oven mitts (because safety first, folks!), carefully remove the dish from the fryer. Slide the omelette onto a plate, garnish with your herbs, and voilà!
Chefs Tips
  • Don’t limit yourself to just peppers and onions. Consider other goodies like mushrooms, tomatoes, or spinach. Got leftover roasted veggies? Toss ’em in!
  • Cheddar is classic, but feel free to mix it up. Feta, mozzarella, or even goat cheese can take your omelette to the next level.
  • Always ensure the centre of the omelette is set before removing it from the fryer. An undercooked omelette is a sad omelette.

FAQs

Can I Use Egg Whites Instead?

Absolutely! Just remember that egg whites can be a tad less flavourful, so you might want to amp up your seasoning.

What If My Air Fryer Doesn’t Have A Temperature Setting?

No worries. Most standard air fryers cook at around 350°F to 375°F (177 to 190°C). Just monitor your omelette closely to avoid overcooking.

I’m Dairy-Free. What Can I Use Instead Of Milk?

Feel free to substitute with your favourite non-dairy milk like almond, oat, or soy.
